TRADITONAL MEDIUMS

This space design is a remake of an older illustration I created in high school. The artwork's title is 'Found' and is meant to represent that a sense of belonging can be discovered within ones self. The art is meant  to encapsulate the search for identity and peace.

This design has no official title but is meant to express  a warning of what humans will be left with if we keep treating the  earth the way we are. The sunlight breaching through the water is meant to represent hope, that if we change our ways there is still a chance of living in a healthy world.

This work counts as my largest painting ever. The material itself is made out of particle board and was previously a large picture of an old hockey team that I thrifted. I like to find as many second hand materials as I can to limit waste. For example, often I paint over previously used canvases,, buy second hand frames, and buy brushes second hand when I can find them. To create a consistent outline for the helmets I drew the original on a sturdy paper,, cut it out, and traced them to where I wanted them to be on the piece.

Arguably one of my favourite painting, This is a reference painting of Zoro from One Piece. I combined a more traditional Japanese art style with one of its most popular current shows. With the contrast of the black and white with a pop of red, I believe this to be my most eye-catching piece. I also was much more patient with creating this painting by doing it in stages over the course of a week.

This series I took outlines of characters from One Piece and painted scenery such as a sunset and mountain range within. With this being an older piece I can see  ways of improving the quality, but nonetheless is still something I'm proud of. One of my strengths is blending and colour mixing which I utilized for this series.
